In lieu of the bad times in owning a home these days, US President Barack Obama has recently released the Making Homes Affordable Program of the US government which enables people to apply for refinancing and other homeowner loans that can help struggling Americans in their home financing.

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development has been placed in charge of the MHA program. According to a press release, they acknowledged the current housing problem in America, and one way that Americans can seek refuge is by applying for a loan modification in the form of homeowner loans.

This, according to the US-HUD, can keep at bay the rising rates of foreclosure. There have been reports of foreclosures done at the start of a refinancing period, and that raised concern from different parties.

The HUD also added that though the media seems to portray dramatic images of people losing their homes, it’s not the real situation in the US. According to them, home affordability rates are high and sale of homes, both new and existing, has seen an upward move.

As such, it can be still a mortgage-friendly country. Moreover, they also advised people who’re struggling for a house to try homeowner loans for them to know better how the government can help them.
