Troy Polamalu Hair 300x199 Head & Shoulders Insures Polamalu’s Hair for $1 MillionAmerican football star Troy Polamalu’s nearly 3 feet long black hair has been insured for $1 million by famous hair-care company Head & Shoulders.

The anti-dandruff shampoo brand announced on Monday that they have taken out a $1 million insurance policy on Pittsburgh Steelers safety Polamalu’s hair to ensure his trademark mane of black ringlets won’t get damaged during the NFL season.

“They’ve created the first ever insurance policy to protect his iconic mane for the entire NFL season,” Procter & Gamble said in a statement. The company also added that it was the first time in history that an insurance policy of this type had been ordered.

“Head & Shoulders has gone above and beyond by insuring my Samoan locks for a cool $1 million dollars. This reinforces that my full and thick hair is unstoppable”, said 29-year-old Polamalu. He became a spokesman for the Procter & Gamble Co. brand for two years and has not cut his hair in seven years.

Polamalu, a five-time Pro Bowl player, was born in the United States but is of Samoan descent always wear his hair long as a tribute to his Samoan heritage.

His hair, so ridiculously full and thick that end to end it spans 100 football fields, has been targeted on the field before by an opposing NFL player- Larry Johnson of the Kansas City Chiefs, tackled Polamalu by the hair during a 49-yard interception return in 2006.
